Common use of Notification of Increased Construction Cost Clause in Contracts

Notification of Increased Construction Cost. If applicable, at any time prior to the City's approval of the final plans, specifications, studies, or report, the Consultant anticipates that the total construction cost will exceed the estimated construction budget, the Consultant shall immediately notify the City in writing. This written notification shall include an itemized cost estimate and a list of recommended revisions which the Consultant believes will bring the construction cost to within the estimated construction budget. The City may either: (1) approve an increase in the amount authorized for construction; or (2) delineate a project which may be constructed for the budget amount; or (3) any combination of (1) and (2).
