Common use of Objective and Business of the Company Clause in Contracts

Objective and Business of the Company. (a) The objective of the Company is to seek capital appreciation principally through investing in Investment Funds managed by third-party Investment Managers who employ a variety of alternative investment strategies. The business of the Company is to purchase, sell (including short sales), invest and trade in Securities, on margin or otherwise, and to engage in any financial or derivative transactions relating thereto or otherwise. The Company may execute, deliver and perform all contracts, agreements, subscription documents and other undertakings and engage in all activities and transactions as may in the opinion of the Board be necessary or advisable to carry out its objective or business. The Company shall be operated subject to any applicable restrictions of the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, as amended. (b) The Company shall operate as a closed-end, non-diversified, management investment company in accordance with the 1940 Act and subject to any fundamental policies and investment restrictions set forth in the Form N-2.
