Open Source Software License Sample Clauses
An Open Source Software License is a legal provision that governs the use, modification, and distribution of software whose source code is made publicly available. This clause typically outlines the permissions granted to users, such as the ability to copy, modify, and share the software, often under certain conditions like attribution or sharing derivative works under the same license. Its core practical function is to ensure that software remains freely accessible and modifiable, promoting collaboration and innovation while clarifying the rights and obligations of users and developers.
