If further changes are required a new sign-up may be held. Assignment of a New Employee In order to train and familiarize new employees management can assign them to various shifts at various locations during their probationary period only. The new employee will participate in the sign up in which the probationary period ends, or, if not possible, in the first sign up following. Assignment of Other Employees In order to train and familiarize employees in a new classification the Employer may assign employees to various shifts at various locations for up to a maximum of fourteen (14) modified work days. Employees who have been absent and removed from the sign-up will advise their supervisor as soon as possible that they have been cleared to return to work. This may include medical verification if applicable. Where the return occurs after the sign up has commenced, these employees may select to work on any shift that has been signed by an employee with less classification seniority. These returning employees will remain there for the duration of the sign up unless it is not practical for operations reasons, in which case, a smaller sign-up will be held for the returning employee and all those with less seniority in that classification.
