Opportunities for Professional Development. (a) The parties to this Agreement share a desire to improve professional standards by giving Employees the opportunity on occasion to participate in seminars, workshops, or university courses, short courses or similar in-service programs to keep up to date with knowledge and skills in the respective fields.
(b) An Employee may at any time apply for professional development under this clause setting out the nature of the proposed program of work along with such other information as may be requested. The Employer’s decision shall be based on operational requirements.
