Owner Occupier: Ground I Clause Samples
The 'Owner Occupier: Ground I' clause allows a landlord to regain possession of a property if they intend to occupy it as their own main residence. In practice, this clause typically applies to assured shorthold tenancies and requires the landlord to provide proper notice to the tenant, often specifying their intention to move in themselves rather than re-letting the property. Its core function is to give landlords a legal mechanism to recover their property for personal use, addressing situations where they need to live in the property themselves rather than continue renting it out.
