Common use of Owner’s Designated Representative Clause in Contracts

Owner’s Designated Representative. The Owner shall designate in writing its Owner’s Project Representative who shall have express authority to bind the Owner with respect to all matters requiring the Owner’s approval or authorization. This Representative shall have the authority to make decisions on behalf of the Owner concerning estimates and schedules, construction budgets, and changes in the Work, and shall render such decisions promptly and furnish information expeditiously, so as to avoid unreasonable delay in the services or Work of the Construction Manager. Except as otherwise provided in Section 5.2 of the General Conditions, the Architect/Engineer does not have such authority.
