Common use of Ownership of Pre-Existing Data Clause in Contracts

Ownership of Pre-Existing Data. Ownership of the Pre-Existing Data and all reprocessed Pre-Existing Data shall at all times remain vested in the Party who contributes the Pre-Existing Data for use by the Parties, and the Parties agree to acknowledge such ownership, including, but not limited to, the filing with any appropriate governmental authority of such acknowledgment. The Parties expressly reserve the right to sell, license, or trade the Pre-Existing Data which it contributes hereunder, to the extent that it has such right to sell, license or trade the Pre-Existing Data, through its own efforts, or through the efforts of others duly authorized by such Party and the benefits and advantages, including monetary consideration, which such Party receives as a result of such activities shall be the sole property of such Party.
