Participation, Benefits, Limitation. 1. To participate, the applicant must agree to enter into a non-paid employment status. No stipend shall be paid. 2. No sick leave or vacation time can be accumulated while on Educational Leave. 3. The Agency will not contribute toward PERS until the employee returns to a paid status. 4. Non-salary related benefits, such as civil service status shall be retained by employee. 5. The Agency reserves the right to fill the position of an employee on educational leave with an intermittent or full-time replacement. 6. Upon the employee's return from Educational Leave, they will be placed in the same or similar position. 7. An employee, who is otherwise eligible for such benefits, shall continue to receive health and life insurance benefits as defined by the County benefits plan for the duration of such employee’s leave under this provision.
