Common use of Pay for Court Appearance Clause in Contracts

Pay for Court Appearance. An employee who is required to appear in court during their scheduled off-duty time shall receive a minimum of three (3) hours pay at one and one-half (l 1/2) times the employee's regular rate of pay or in compensation time. An extension or early report to a regularly scheduled shift for court appearance does not qualify the employee for the three (3) hour minimum. Employees shall not be required to work office or street duty to qualify for the court time minimum.
