Common use of Payment for Material Completion Clause in Contracts

Payment for Material Completion. Upon receipt of the Certificate of Material Completion, the Contractor may make Application for Payment for Material Completion (which includes retainage) with supporting documentation as required in the General Conditions. Before certifying such payment, the Design Professional shall withhold from the amount certified 200 percent of the value of each Minor Item or Permitted Incomplete Work and shall require the Contractor to provide the Statutory Affidavit, the Non-Influence Affidavit, and supporting documentation called for in the General Conditions. If the Contractor has shown any exceptions on the Statutory Affidavit, the Design Professional shall also make appropriate deductions to the Certificate of Payment.
