Payment of the Deferred Salary. The deferred salary will be paid in equal instalments on the regular pay dates for the duration of the leave. UTS will hold the employee’s position for the duration of the leave or if the position no longer exists, layoff provisions of the collective agreement shall apply. Seniority will continue to accrue during the employee’s leave. During the leave, vacation will not accumulate and the employee will not be eligible for paid sick leave. In determining the salary level applicable following the employee’s return, the period of leave shall not qualify for salary grid movement.
