Common use of PERMITS AND TAXES Clause in Contracts

PERMITS AND TAXES. a. The Contractor shall obtain and pay for all permits, fees and licenses that are required in order to perform the work under this Contract. The District shall pay connection charges and meter costs for new permanent utilities required by these Contract Documents. The Contractor shall notify the District sufficiently in advance to submit requests for service to the appropriate utility companies so as to insure connections or installation of utility services in accordance with the Project schedule. b. The Contractor shall pay for all taxes on materials and equipment. The District is exempt from Federal Excise Tax. Contractor shall not pay Federal Excise Tax on any item in this Contract.
