Permitted Uses and Disclosures of PHI and PI by Business Associate. Business Associate may use or disclose PHI and PI received from Covered Entity to its officers and employees. Business Associate may disclose PHI and PI to a business associate that is a subcontractor and may allow the subcontractor to create, receive, maintain, or transmit PHI and PI on its behalf if the Business Associate obtains satisfactory assurances in accordance with 45 C.F.R. §164.504(e)(1)(i) and section 501.171(2) Florida Statutes that the subcontractor will appropriately safeguard the information. All other uses or disclosures not authorized by this Agreement or otherwise governed by law are prohibited.
