Personal Flotation Devices. All personnel working in an operating environment including ship ramps, or lighters, shall wear USCG-approved, buoyant, personal floatation devices equipped with a light and whistle. DOD personnel, unfamiliar with ocean environments frequently are unaware of this regulation. The Master shall enforce this safety procedure. The ship's crew shall set an example by wearing such equipment themselves when working in lifeboats, over the side, or on ramps.
Personal Flotation Devices. All Boats must have a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) or life jacket in the appropriate size for each person on board. All PFDs must be readily accessible so that the occupants may be able to put them on in a reasonable amount of time in an emergency. Children 12 years of age or younger must wear a USCG approved PFD at all times when aboard a Boat that is underway. By signing below, the Owner’s Employee and Renter confirm that they have inspected the above listed Safety Equipment at pick up and that the Employee has explained to the Renter the proper use of the Safety Equipment. Personal Flotation Devices. All renters and passengers must wear a Type III personal flotation device at all times while on docks, or sailboats. RENTER’S RESPONSIBILITY. Renter agrees to be responsible for and to replace or make good any injury to the yacht, her furnishings and equipment, caused by Renter or by any of Renter’s party. The cost of damages caused by negligence or intentional acts of Renter or Renter’s guests or invitees, shall be charged to Renter and shall be paid by Renter. CANCELLATION POLICY. Rental cancellations must be made more than 24 hours in advance or the renter will be charged the hourly rate of $37.50. No shows also require a payment of $37.50. The sailing staff will determine if weather conditions warrant a cancellation, in which case there is no fee.
Personal Flotation Devices. (1) A personal floatation device (PFD), normally worn around the neck and over the shoulders only, shall be worn by each individual on board the helicopter when conducting operations beyond power-off gliding distance to shore, and during all bucketed or tanked firefighting operations. Personal floatation devices that are normally worn around the waist, which need to be pulled up and over the helmet for use, are not permitted. Acceptable personal floatation devices types are; normally worn around the neck and over the shoulders, must be CO2 cartridge deployable, and have a manual inflation valve installed. Personal floatation devices should be serviced annually for damage, operation, and condition.
(2) Automatic inflation (water activated) personal flotation devices shall not be allowed.
