Pharmacy Provider Relations and Prior Authorizations. The Contractor shall operate a toll-free call center twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week for access by pharmacies and physicians/prescribers. The call center shall provide access to registered pharmacists during all hours of operation to respond to pharmacy related questions that require clinical intervention and to handle reconsideration requests for prior authorizations. The call center shall process prior authorization requests received from prescribers by facsimile, telephone or postal service. The Contractor shall have a twenty-four (24) hour turnaround time on processing pharmacy prior authorization requests.
