Power Factor Requirements. The APS Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) policy regarding power factor requires all Interconnection Customers to maintain an acceptable power factor at the Point of Interconnection (POI), subject to system conditions. The APS OATT also requires Interconnection Customers to be able to achieve +/- 0.95 power factor with dynamic reactive control at the high side of the generator substation at all dispatch levels. Furthermore, APS requires Interconnection Customers to have dynamic voltage control and maintain the voltage as specified by the transmission operator within the limitation of +/- 0.95 power factor, as long as the Project is online and generating or charging. Control should be automatic voltage regulation (AVR) mode in compliance with FAC-002-4 R1and the Operating Agent provided voltage schedule. Other modes of operation require the permission of the Operating Agent. If the Project’s equipment is not capable of this type of response, a dynamic reactive device will be required. APS has the right to disconnect the Project if system conditions dictate the need to do so in order to maintain system reliability.
Power Factor Requirements. A For loads equal to or greater than 30 percent of the maximum demand at the Transmission Network Connection Point the permissible range of power factor of the Customer load will between 0.95 lagging and unity. For loads less than 30 percent of the maximum demand at the Transmission Network Connection Point the reactive component of the Customer load must not be leading.
Power Factor Requirements. The power factor of the Generation System and connected load shall be as follows: (1) Inverter Based interconnections – shall be designed within reasonable limits to operate at a power factor of no less than 90% at the inverter terminals; (2) Limited Parallel Generation Systems, such as closed transfer or soft-loading transfer systems shall operate at a power factor of no less than 90%, during the period when the Generation System is parallel with Xcel Energy, as measured at the Point of Common Coupling; and, (3) Extended Parallel Generation Systems shall be designed to be capable of operating between 90% lagging and 95% leading. These Generation Systems shall normally operate near unity power factor (+/-98%) or as mutually agreed between Xcel Energy and the Interconnection Customer.
Power Factor Requirements. The Design-Builder shall design and construct the Project to achieve a minimum power factor of 0.90 at the PG&E service meter/connection for MRWTP.
