Common use of Powers and Duties of the Custodian with respect to Property of the Fund held by the Custodian Clause in Contracts

Powers and Duties of the Custodian with respect to Property of the Fund held by the Custodian. Except for securities and funds held by any Subcustodians or held by the Custodian through a non-U.S. securities depository appointed pursuant to the provisions of Section 3 hereof, the Custodian shall have and perform the following powers and duties: A. Safekeeping - To keep safely the securities and other assets of the Fund that have been delivered to the Custodian and, on behalf of the Fund, from time to time to receive delivery of securities for safekeeping.
