PreparationTime. (a) The School Authority shall ensure the following: i) Effective August 31, 2012, each teacher will receive a minimum of 240 minutes of preparation time free from classroom instruction, supervision or other assigned duties, within each cycle of five instructional days. (b) Preparation time shall be used for professional activities as determined by the teacher and shall be assigned only during the students' instructional day. (c) Part-time teachers will be allocated preparation time on a pro-rata basis. (d) Professional Activity days shall not be considered instructional days for the purpose of scheduling preparation time. (e) Notwithstanding other provisions in this collective agreement, the School Authority may assign the additional teaching staff generated by the increase in elementary teacher preparation time above the 2008-09 level, to enable full-time school-based teaching assignments in the arts in more than one elementary school. This shall be done in consultation with the In-School Staffing Committee. (f) Notwithstanding other provisions in this collective agreement, the additional weekly minutes of preparation time above the 2008-09 level, generated within 20 consecutive instructional days, may be aggregated to provide for meaningful blocks of preparation time for teachers. The School Authority may not use the aggregated additional minutes of preparation to hire occasional teachers to provide teacher coverage, as opposed to regular specialist teachers. (g) Missed preparation time shall only be rescheduled where a teacher is required by the principal to provide instruction during his or her scheduled preparation time for a teacher absent from work. Such rescheduling of missed preparation time shall occur as soon as administratively feasible, but no later than three months after the loss of the preparation time and in any event within the same school year. (h) Notwithstanding the foregoing, existing provisions or practices respecting preparation time which provide superior benefits to the provisions set out above shall be maintained at each school.
PreparationTime. The Good Spirit School Division maintains its commitment to the curricular program through provision of preparationtime for teachers. This time is based on three foundational principles: Provision shall be equitable (just and fair); Provision shall enhance the teachers’ capacities to meet the learning needs of students; and Provision shall enhance the school’s capacity to be a learning community. A target of to preparation time shall be allocated to individual teachers. The assignment of preparation time may be less than in schools where administration, in joint consultation with all staff, determines creative and practical ways to meet the needs of their teachers and school. It is mutually understood that ongoing dialogue is necessary to resolve issues concerning preparation time. The Board will strive to schedule preparation time for each teacher every day. Section :Transition to Retirement This program is strictly voluntary to teachers who have attained superannuation eligibility. Teachers interested in accessing this section are encouraged to direct inquiries regarding eligibility to the director. If a teacher is eligible and wishes to participate, the teacher must provide a letter of resignation to the director at least three (3)weeks in advance of the requested date of superannuation. The superannuation date chosen must also coincide with the last teaching day of the month in which the superannuation will occur. The date of superannuation will be in the months of September to May inclusive. If the date of superannuation will be in the month of May, notice will be provided no later than April of that year. The teacher applying for this program will receive a one-time temporary contract from the beginning of the month following the resignation to June of that school year.

  • Preparation Awarded vendor shall not begin a project for which TIPS Member has not prepared the site, unless awarded vendor does the preparation work at no cost, or until TIPS Member includes the cost of site preparation in a purchase order. Site preparation includes, but is not limited to: moving furniture, installing wiring for networks or power, and similar pre-installation requirements. Registered sex offender restrictions: For work to be performed at schools, awarded vendor agrees that no employee of a sub-contractor who has been adjudicated to be a registered sex offender will perform work at any time when students are, or reasonably expected to be, present. Awarded vendor agrees that a violation of this condition shall be considered a material breach and may result in the cancellation of the purchase order at the TIPS Member’s discretion. Awarded vendor must identify any additional costs associated with compliance of this term. If no costs are specified, compliance with this term will be provided at no additional charge. Safety measures: Awarded vendor shall take all reasonable precautions for the safety of employees on the worksite, and shall erect and properly maintain all necessary safeguards for protection of workers and the public. Awarded vendor shall post warning signs against all hazards created by the operation and work in progress. Proper precautions shall be taken pursuant to state law and standard practices to protect workers, general public and existing structures from injury or damage.

  • Joint Preparation The preparation of this Agreement has been a joint effort of the parties and the resulting documents shall not, solely as a matter of judicial construction, be construed more severely against one of the parties than the other.

  • Preparation; Reasonable Investigation In connection with the ------------------------------------- preparation and filing of each registration statement under the Securities Act pursuant to this Agreement, the Company will give the holders of Registrable Securities registered under such registration statement, their underwriters, if any, and their respective counsel and accountants, the opportunity to participate in the preparation of such registration statement, each prospectus included therein or filed with the Commission, and each amendment thereof or supplement thereto, and will give each of them such access to its books and records and such opportunities to discuss the business of the Company with its officers and the independent public accountants who have certified its financial statements as shall be necessary, in the opinion of such holders' and such underwriters' respective counsel, to conduct a reasonable investigation within the meaning of the Securities Act.

  • Preparation and Submission The Recipient will: (a) submit to the Province at the address referred to in section A.15.1 (Notice in Writing and Addressed): (i) all Reports in accordance with the timelines and content requirements provided for in Schedule “D” (Reports); and (ii) any other reports in accordance with any timelines and content requirements the Province may specify from time to time; and (b) ensure that all Reports and other reports are: (i) completed to the satisfaction of the Province; and (ii) signed by an authorized signing officer of the Recipient.

  • Preparation Period During the preparation period, a teacher will have no other assignment except in an emergency situation. It is recognized that the preparation period is a scheduled part of the teacher's work day and the teacher is expected to be in his/her respective Building. If the teacher must leave the Building during his/her preparation and/or lunch period, he/she must notify the Building switchboard operator.
