PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISORS. 5.6.1. A Professional Supervisor is DAGA member who provides assistance to a PI and/or a PE. The qualifications for the Professional Supervisor shall be set forth in the Review Panel Rules and Procedures, provided that the following shall constitute the minimum qualifications: 5.6.1.1. Be a credentialed DAGA member with permanent status; 5.6.1.2. Substantial recent experience in correlative age appropriate instruction in Counseling, Mental Health Therapy, Occupational Therapy or as a School Psychologist; 5.6.1.3. Demonstrate exemplary ability, as indicated by, among other things, effective communication skills, both orally and in writing; 5.6.1.4. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others; 5.6.1.5. Comply with the legal requirements set by the respective professional body. 5.6.2. In order to fill a Professional Supervisor position, a notice of vacancy will be posted at the SELPA, in the District Office, sent via email to unit members and made available online. In addition to submitting an application form, each applicant is required to submit two (2) references from individuals with specific knowledge of his or her expertise, as follows: 5.6.2.1. A reference from a building principal or immediate supervisor; 5.6.2.2. A reference from another Association member. 5.6.3. All applications and references will be treated with confidentiality to the maximum extent allowed by law. 5.6.4. Professional Supervisors shall be selected by a majority vote of the Review Panel after interviews of prospective candidates are completed. 5.6.5. Professional Supervisors must be appropriately qualified to offer supervision. The Review Panel will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Professional Supervisor and will make decisions regarding their continuation in the program. The Review Panel may remove a Professional Supervisor from a position at any time because of the specific needs of the PI and/or PE, inadequate performance of the Professional Supervisor, or other just cause. Prior to the effective date of such removal, the review Panel will provide the Professional Supervisor with a written statement of the reasons for removal, and at the request of the Professional Supervisor, will meet with him or her to discuss the reasons. 5.6.6. The Review Panel will determine the number of Professional Supervisors based upon participation, available budget, and other relevant considerations. 5.6.7.
