Prohibition Against Assignment of Benefits. Except to the extent otherwise required by law, none of the benefits, payments, or proceeds held in an Account on behalf of any Participant, spouse of a Participant, or Beneficiary shall be subject to the claims of any creditor of such Participant, spouse of a participant, or Beneficiary, nor shall any Participant, spouse of a participant, or Beneficiary have any right to anticipate, sell, pledge, option, encumber, or assign any of the benefits, payments, or proceeds to which he or she is or may be entitled under the Plan.
