PURPOSE OF THE TRUST. The purpose of the Trust is to conduct, operate and carry on the business of an investment company registered under the 1940 Act through one or more Series investing primarily in securities, and to carry on such other business or businesses as the Trustees may from time to time determine pursuant to their authority under this Declaration of Trust. In furtherance of the foregoing, the Trust may do everything necessary, suitable, convenient, customary or proper for the conduct, promotion and attainment of any businesses and purposes which at any time may be incidental to, or may appear conducive or expedient for the accomplishment of the business of, an investment company registered under the 1940 Act, or any such other business or businesses as the Trustees may from time to time determine, and which may be engaged in or carried on by a statutory trust formed under the Delaware Act; and in connection therewith, the Trust shall have and may exercise all of the powers conferred by the laws of the State of Delaware upon a Delaware statutory trust.
