Qualifying Authors Clause Samples
Qualifying Authors. Corresponding authors of Members qualify to have their articles published under the OBP, for the respective journal article, if all of the following conditions are met at the time of submission of the manuscript:
1) corresponding author must be identified as the individual who is to communicate with ACS through the peer review process,
2) corresponding author must be a current staff or student with a Member institution,
3) corresponding author must indicate affiliation to a Member by identifying the Member via a provided dropdown menu during the online manuscript submission process, and It is highly recommended for ease of identification and administrative matters that corresponding authors utilize during the manuscript submission process a current email address extension that is directly associated to their respective Member institution. Corresponding authors meeting all of the aforementioned criteria are hereinafter referred to as “Qualifying Authors”. For clarity, the term corresponding author as used herein means the author handling the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process, who has the authority to act on behalf of all co-authors regarding publication of the manuscript. Additionally,
i) if a corresponding author becomes a current staff or student of a Member at some point in time between submission of a manuscript and acceptance of that manuscript, then, upon validation by a Member, ACS agrees that such corresponding author shall be a Qualifying Author, and that ACS shall permit OBP publication for that accepted manuscript.
ii) if a corresponding author ▇▇▇▇▇▇ being a current staff or student of a Member at some point in time between submission of a manuscript and acceptance of that manuscript, then, upon rejection by a Member, ACS agrees that such corresponding author shall cease to be a Qualifying Author, and that ACS shall not permit OBP publication for that accepted manuscript.
Qualifying Authors. To qualify to have their articles published under the OBP, corresponding authors must have direct association with a Consortium member institution and must be an Authorized User as such term in meant in the Agreement. It is highly recommended for ease of identification and administrative matters that corresponding authors utilize during the manuscript submission process a current email address extension that is directly associated to their respective Institution. For clarity, the term corresponding author as used herein means the author handling the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process, who has the authority to act on behalf of all co-authors regarding publication of the manuscript. Hereafter, the term Qualifying Author as used in this Addendum shall mean the corresponding author as described above.

1) corresponding author must be identified as the individual who is to communicate with ACS throughout the peer review process,
2) corresponding author must be an Authorized User as such term is used in the Access Agreement,
3) corresponding author must indicate affiliation to Grantee or a member institution by identifying it via a provided dropdown menu during the online manuscript submission process. It is highly recommended for ease of identification and administrative matters that corresponding authors utilize during the manuscript submission process a current email address extension that is directly associated to the Grantee or the applicable member institution. Corresponding authors meeting all of the aforementioned criteria are hereinafter referred to as “Qualifying Authors”. For clarity, the term corresponding author as used herein means the author handling the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process, who has the authority to act on behalf of all co-authors regarding publication of the manuscript.
Qualifying Authors. Corresponding authors whose articles are accepted by ACS qualify to have their articles published under the R&P PROGRAM, for the respective journal article, if all of the following conditions are met at the time of submission of the manuscript:
