Reacquired Obligations; Cancellation and Disposition of Obligations. In the event the Shipowner shall reacquire any Obligations (whether by purchase or otherwise), such Obligations shall forthwith be delivered to the Indenture Trustee for cancellation. Except as provided in Section 3.10(b), all Obligations surrendered for the purpose of payment, redemption, transfer, exchange, or substitution, or in discharge in whole or in part of any sinking fund payment shall, if surrendered to the Shipowner or any Paying Agent, be delivered to the Indenture Trustee and shall be cancelled by it. No Obligation shall be authenticated in lieu of or in exchange for any Obligation cancelled as provided in this Section, except as may be expressly permitted by this Indenture. Obligations cancelled by the Indenture Trustee shall be delivered or disposed of as directed by a Request of the Shipowner.
