Recognition of legitimate interests. The SPS accepts the legitimacy of the recognised Trade Unions as the appropriate and effective representatives of employees and that genuine involvement and participation will enable effective representation at all levels of the organisation. The Trade Unions accept that the SPS is required to operate within the framework and policies established for it by the Scottish Government and recognise its duty to provide efficient and effective services representing value for money to the taxpayer.
