Common use of Record Date for Dividends and Distributions Clause in Contracts

Record Date for Dividends and Distributions. For the purpose of determining the Shareholders of any Class who are entitled to receive payment of any dividend or of any other distribution, the Trustees may from time to time fix a date, which shall be before the date for the payment of such dividend or such other payment, as the record date for determining the Shareholders of such Class having the right to receive such dividend or distribution. Without fixing a record date, the Trustees may for distribution purposes close the register or transfer books for all or for any part of the period between a record date and the payment of a dividend or distribution. Nothing in this Section 2 shall be construed as precluding the Trustees from setting different record dates for different Classes.
