Relationship to Award Sample Clauses
The 'Relationship to Award' clause defines how the terms of the contract interact with or are affected by any awards, such as grants, prizes, or other recognitions, that may be relevant to the agreement. Typically, this clause clarifies whether the contract is contingent upon receiving an award, or how obligations and rights under the contract are modified if an award is granted or denied. For example, it may specify that certain deliverables or payments are only required if an award is received, or that the contract terminates if an award is not granted. The core function of this clause is to ensure both parties understand how external awards impact their contractual obligations, thereby preventing misunderstandings and allocating risk related to the outcome of award applications.
