Research Involving Animals. With respect to any research activities covered by this Agreement involving animal subjects, University agrees to comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of any governmental authority, agency or entity having jurisdiction over the research (including, but not limited to, the 1966 Federal Animal Welfare Act and the 1985 Improved Standards of Laboratory Animals Acts.) This compliance includes, but is not limited to, the need for review and approval of University’s animal research/procedures for animal care by the appropriate local Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). If such approval is required, University must provide a copy of this approval to Sponsor.”

Research Involving Animals. 6.1 The use of animals for research connected with the Project must be limited to that set out in the Application Form. 6.2 Where Projects involve the use of animals for research, the Principal Investigator must demonstrate support of the principles of the May 2008 NC3Rs guidelines ‘Responsibility in the use of animals in biomedical research: expectations of the major research council and charitable funding bodies’ (xxx.xx0xx.xxx.xx/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx), including keeping the number of animals used to the minimum required for statistical analyses. 6.3 Where the Project involves the use of animals the Institution shall ensure that:- 6.3.1 before Project commences all necessary licences have been obtained and copies have been sent to the Charity; 6.3.2 the Project is carried out in accordance with all applicable laws, codes of practice and guidelines, (including but not limited to the Charity’s policy as set out in the Application Form); and 6.3.3 irrespective of paragraph 6.2.2 above, the Project shall be carried out to the highest possible standard.
Research Involving Animals. 6.1. Where the Research involves the use of animals the Charity requires that the Host Institution, the Xxxxx Xxxxxx and the Research have the necessary Home Office licences (or equivalent for Research taking place outside the UK). Approval should usually be sought before an approach to the Charity is made and copies of the approval documents should be enclosed with the Proposal. 6.2. The Charity expects the Host Institution and the Xxxxx Xxxxxx to consider, at an early stage in the design of any research involving animals, the opportunities for Reduction, Replacement and Refinement of animal involvement.
Research Involving Animals. If the Institution uses animals in any of its research, whether in its own facilities, in other facilities or in the field, it shall: a. maintain a valid Certificate of Good Animal Practice® from the Canadian Council on Animal Care ("CCAC") and ensure that research funded by an Agency complies fully with CCAC standards, as amended; b. ensure, through the use of financial or other controls, that the Institution’s animal care committee has approved the research project before research activities involving animals have commenced, and that animal care committee (ACC) approval is maintained as long as research activities involving animals are carried out. Where appropriate controls are in place, all Grant funds may be released prior to (or pending) ACC approval.
Research Involving Animals. The Recipient and any Recipient institution shall conduct all research involving animals under this Award in compliance with the requirements set forth in the Animal Welfare Act of 1966 (P.L. 89-544), as amended, and the associated regulations in 9 C.F.R., Chapter 1, Subchapter A; the Public Health Service (PHS) Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (which adopts the “U.S. Government Principles for the Utilization and Care of Vertebrate Animals used in Testing, Research, and Training”, 50 FR 20864, May 20, 1985); the National Research Council (NRC) Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals; the Federation of Animal Science Societies (FASS) Guide for the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Agricultural Research and Teaching; and any additional requirements set forth in the DHS Directive for the Care and Use of Animals in Research (026-01). Each Recipient and any Recipient institution planning to perform research involving animals under this Award must comply with the requirements and submit the documentation outlined in this section. 1.
