Research Proposal. 1. Offers shall be made in the form of a research proposal. A research proposal shall be made in writing and shall in any event contain a description of the research, the number of respondents, a description of the questionnaire, the sample and other fieldwork specifications, the method of analysis and reporting. A research proposal shall contain a statement of the expected duration of the research. 2. On the basis of the data supplied by the client, Ipsos BV shall determine the price of the research in the research proposal, excluding Dutch value-added tax and other levies imposed by government authorities. 3. Unless otherwise specified in the research proposal, the price quoted does not include additional costs such as (extra) travelling and accommodation expenses, the costs of (additional) meetings, rental of location and equipment, expenses for preparing presentations and any possible unforeseen costs which may be incurred by Ipsos BV. 4. A research proposal shall be valid up to one month from the date of such proposal, on condition that the order can be executed within the period referred to in the proposal, calculated as from the starting date referred to in the proposal. 5. Meetings shall be held in The Netherlands, unless expressly stated otherwise in the research proposal. 6. The costs connected with drawing up research proposals and all meetings related thereto may be charged to the applicant who requested the research proposal if no order follows and it has been agreed with the applicant in writing beforehand that the applicant agrees to payment of such work. 7. If the client submits the same research proposal to Ipsos BV and other (potential) contractors, the client is always obliged to inform Ipsos BV of this fact.
Research Proposal. The prospective licensee will provide a written description of the proposed collaboration and submit it to ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇. ▇▇▇, M.D., Director, Research Imaging Institute and Principal Investigator, BrainMap Project. This description will be reviewed and edited as needed and approved by the BrainMap Development Team. This description will be appended to the license agreement at the time of execution.

Research Project Start Date: (we recommend “upon IRB approval” rather than a specific calendar date) These dates need to include the time you need to advertise for, recruit, and screen potential subjects as well as collect and statistically analyze your data. Rather than giving a specific starting date, we suggest using “upon IRB approval”. If you do put a specific start date, make sure it is going to be after you have completed the IRB process (with revisions if necessary) and received full approval.

Research Proposal. The title of your dissertation is likely to change over time. Therefore, you only need to name a working title for the supervision agreement The research proposal is meant to structure your research project. It provides you and your supervisor with an overview of the content of the dissertation and a schedule detailing individual steps of the research process. Throughout the doctorate, you can use the research proposal as a tool to identify open questions and achievements of your project. We recommend therefore to invest an appropriate amount of time into your proposal. In general, the research proposal is between 5 – 15 pages and summarizes your research project. Additionally, it should contain a time schedule detailing the duration of each task. Usually, a research proposal contains the following elements:  Research Question  Goals  State of the art  Preparations  Time schedule  Literature The expectations on a research proposal can vary among chairs, institutes, and departments. Therefore, you should discuss the details of your proposal with your ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇ order to ensure a good supervision relationship, we recommend to extensive talks with your supervisor every three months.
Research Proposal. Applicants must provide to the Data Center a written description of the research project including: an abstract, research questions, primary methodology, categories of variables to be used, and plans for use of the results of the research, including plans for publication. The research plan should specify the time frame for analysis of the data, as well as the benefits to the Data Center (See Procedures for Obtaining Data for guidance). If the project requires labor from the Data Center beyond providing existing data sets (e.g., creating customized data sets), these activities must be described and justified in the proposal. Most proposals are 5-10 pages long. The abstract (approx. 250 words) should include the title of the project, names of investigators, and funding source (or proposed funding source). The abstract should state the goals of the project and the Data Center’s role in meeting those goals. Proposals should include the data request form.
Research Proposal. With the approval of her/his advisor and committee members*, the student will prepare and submit a specific research proposal to her/his DAC by the end of the third semester (excluding ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇) in the program. The proposal should follow the format dictated by the National Science Foundation or the National Institute of Health as indicated by the advisor. The proposal shall include a half-page abstract, Project Description (comprised of Specific Aims, Background and Significance, Preliminary Data, Experimental Plan, Expected Outcomes and Pitfalls and a Timeline) and References. The Project Description should be no more than 15 single spaced pages, 11-12 pt font with 2.5 cm margins on all sides. The abstract and list of references shall not be counted in the 15-page limit. The DAC will meet and advise the student on the merits and weaknesses of the proposal. If deficiencies are discovered, the DAC will ask the student to prepare again for another meeting (including revision of the proposal if required). A second unsatisfactory presentation will lead to termination from the MCB Program. Some home departments have unique requirements for documentation of the proposal defense. Please see the Table of Required Forms to determine the specific requirement for each home department. *This requirement can be met either formally by a meeting of the committee or informally by individual meetings between the student and each committee member.
