RETIREE PROGRAM. 38.1 A retiring bargaining unit member may remain employed on a full-time or part time basis, providing a transition period for the employee who has retired and allowing the Bureau to retain productive employees whose skills would otherwise be lost in the workplace. 38.2 For purposes of this Article, “retired” is defined by the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and employees in this program are eligible for City-paid benefits only as allowed under the applicable employment codes (PSTATs) and shall not exceed the maximum allowable hours of employment permitted under the applicable employment code (PSTATs), the Charter and the Bureau of Human Resources Administrative Rules of the City of Portland.
