Common use of Retirement of RECs Clause in Contracts

Retirement of RECs. To facilitate compliance with obligations of suppliers of Renewable Energy as first deliverers of electricity, as defined in Title 17, California Code of Regulations (“CCR”) Section 95802, to comply with mandatory greenhouse gas reporting requirements in Title 17 CCR Section 95101 with respect to such Renewable Energy, Buyer agrees to retire the RECs for compliance purchased from Seller hereunder no later than four (4) months after the year in which they are produced for each renewable generation period in accordance with Title 17 CCR Section 95852(b)(3)(D) and to provide Seller with the WREGIS retirement report.
