Common use of Return or Secure Destruction of Confidential Information Clause in Contracts

Return or Secure Destruction of Confidential Information. Upon the earlier of: the expiration of this Contract or the request (at any time) of County, the Contractor shall, at the County’s option and pursuant to the County’s written authorization, either: (a) promptly securely destroy all copies of the Confidential Information obtained from the County or furnished to the Contractor, or Contractor’s approved Affiliates and employees, and confirm such destruction to the County in writing, or (b) return to the County all Confidential Information obtained from the County or furnished to the Contractor and Contractor’s approved Affiliates and employees, and confirm such return to the County in writing.
