Common use of Routine Newborn Care Clause in Contracts

Routine Newborn Care. 3.18.1 Newborn care is the treatment received by a newborn from the date of birth and is restricted to the first 7 (seven) days of life whilst hospitalised, or up to the monetary limit as determined in the table of benefits. 3.18.2 Thereafter, no benefits are available to newborns until a completed application and letter from the treating hospital or physician stating the newborn has been discharged as a “well baby” have been submitted and selected membership has been paid for. Normal terms and conditions apply thereafter, which will include exclusions for congenital and hereditary defects. 3.18.3 The limit for routine maternity care for both mother and newborn is as determined in the Table of Benefits. 3.18.4 The limit is the same for a multiple births. This is the maximum amount payable and is regardless of the number of children born. 3.18.5 The excess deductible does not apply to this benefit. 3.18.6 Repatriation of mortal remains will apply to both mother and child, if applicable, during the specified period of membership.
