SALARY AVERAGING - SCHOOL YEAR EMPLOYEES. 34.1 An employee who is engaged as a School Year Employee will have their wages computed according to this clause. 34.2 A School Year Employee means a person employed in the provision of support services to students in a school setting in a classification contained in Clause 16 whose duties are not required to be performed other than during the school terms which make up the school year as set by the Government of Victoria for Government Schools. 34.3 School Year Employees shall be paid at an adjusted rate of 46.6/52 (forty six and six tenths fifty seconds) of the rate of pay applying under the relevant classification contained in Clause 17 of this Agreement, at the relevant full time or pro rata rate applicable according to hours worked. 34.4 The adjusted pay rate pursuant to this clause will replace the pay rate applicable under Clause 17 of this Agreement, for the relevant classification, and shall be used for calculating entitlements referred to in other sections of this agreement where Clause 16 of this agreement, would otherwise apply. 34.5 School Year Employees will receive leave with pay during school holiday periods as set by the Government of Victoria, at the rate of pay set out in 34.3 of this Clause. 34.6 Payment for each school holiday period shall be made in advance before the commencement of that school holiday period, except where the employee requests a continuation of the customary payment of wages arrangements which exist during the school term, as per Clause 17 of this Agreement.
