Sale or property. Property not thrown away or given to charity may be disposed of only by sale, which must be held no sooner than 30 days after written notice of the date, time, and place of sale is sent by both regu- lar mail and certified mail (return receipt requested) to your last known address. The notice must itemize the amounts you owe and provide the name, address, and phone number of the person to contact about the sale, the amount owed, and your right to redeem the prop- erty. The sale may be public or private; is subject to any third-party ownership or lien claims; must be to the highest cash bidder; and may be in bulk, in batches, or item-by-item. If the proceeds from the sale are more than you owe, the excess amount must be mailed to you at your last known address within 30 days after sale.
