Common use of Scope of Supplemental Indenture; General Clause in Contracts

Scope of Supplemental Indenture; General. This Third Supplemental Indenture supplements and, to the extent inconsistent therewith, replaces the provisions of the Base Indenture, to which provisions reference is hereby made. The changes, modifications and supplements to the Base Indenture effected by this Third Supplemental Indenture shall be applicable only with respect to, and govern the terms of, the Notes (which shall be initially in the aggregate principal amount set forth below) and shall not apply to any other Securities that have been or may be issued under the Indenture unless a supplemental indenture with respect to such other Securities specifically incorporates such changes, modifications and supplements. Pursuant to this Third Supplemental Indenture, there is hereby created and designated the following series of Securities under the Indenture: the “2.375% Notes due 2030” and the “3.550% Notes due 2050”. The Notes shall be in the form of Exhibit A-1 and A-2 hereto, as applicable, the terms of which are incorporated herein by reference.
