Section 3. Vacation Scheduling Clause Samples

Section 3. Vacation Scheduling. Provided requests are made in accordance with paragraph B hereof, the requested vacation shall be granted. In the event the request is not timely, responsibility for authorization of time off for vacation shall rest with the supervisor, subject to staffing requirements and efficient operations. We affirm that in the rare instances that multiple vacation requests threaten the safe operation of our clinics, labor and management will resolve these in partnership.
Section 3. Vacation Scheduling. Commencing November 1 employees shall select their first vacation period in order of seniority, as outlined in Article 14 – Seniority. This vacation schedule shall be confirmed by management by November 15. Commencing November 16 employees shall select their second vacation period in order of seniority, as outlined in Article 14 – Seniority. This vacation schedule shall be confirmed by management by November 30. Commencing December 1 employees shall select their third request vacation period in order of seniority, as outlined in Article 14 – Seniority. This vacation schedule shall be confirmed by management by December 15. The first (1st) and second (2nd) round vacation selections must be full weeks; however, the third (3rd) round may be broken weeks (single day or multiple days). Only one vacation period shall be selected by seniority on each request. Notwithstanding seniority, an employee may only book a maximum of three (3) weeks vacation between June 15 and September 15 until all employees have had the opportunity to select one vacation period. Once all employees have had the opportunity to select one vacation period, an employee may apply for a longer period if qualified employees are available to replace an employee and operational requirements are satisfied, in which case, such further vacation time off will be allowed with seniority applying. Any available periods on the Vacation Schedule for the following calendar year remaining after December 15 may be requested as vacation on a first-come, first-served basis. All vacations must be scheduled not later than September 15 of the year in which they are earned. All vacation leave is subject to operational requirements. However, vacation schedules, once approved by the Employer, shall not be changed, other than in the case of emergency as defined by the Business Continuity Plan, except by mutual agreement between the employee and the Employer.
Section 3. Vacation Scheduling. All vacations may be taken during the vacation period beginning June 1 and ending May 31, except that employees entitled to seven (7) to twenty-five (25) days vacation may schedule the balance of their vacation during the same period provided such vacation is scheduled 15 days in advance. The Company realizes that not all vacations can be scheduled 15 days in advance, thus, one day of vacation will be granted to an employee when notifying his supervisor by 12:00 noon the day prior to the scheduled vacation day. No additional vacation days other than the one-day of vacation, will be granted unless the production schedule allows for the additional time off. More than one employee in any one group may be granted a vacation for the same time, provided that approval is consistent with the efficient performance of the duties of that group. The Company shall have the right to close the factory for vacation, in which case all vacations shall be taken during that period. Seniority will govern all vacation requests submitted prior to April 1st for the upcoming vacation year. After April 1, all requests will be on a first request basis without regard to seniority.
