Section 408. Employees' seniority date will be the first day of regular work (excluding substitute 42 work) in the bargaining unit, as per Section 3.01. When two or more employees begin work on the 43 same day, their placement on the seniority list will be determined by calculating the sum of the last 44 four digits of each employee’s social security number; the employee with the highest sum number shall 45 have the highest seniority ranking. If there is a tie based on the sum of the last four digits, then the sum 46 of the two middle digits will be used as the next tie breaker.
