In general, it is the transmission facility (or channel or group of channels on such facility) which extends from a Main Distribution Frame (MDF) or its equivalent, in a GTE end office or Wire Center to and including a demarcation or connector block in/at a subscriber's premises. Traditionally, Loops were provisioned as 2-wire or 4-wire copper pairs running from the end office MDF to the customer premises. However, a loop may be provided via other media, including radio frequencies, as a channel on a high capacity feeder/distribution facility which may, in turn, be distributed from a node location to the subscriber premises via a copper or coaxial drop facility, etc.
