Settlements; Adverse Judgment Sample Clauses
The "Settlements; Adverse Judgment" clause governs how parties handle settlements and respond to unfavorable court decisions in the context of a dispute or litigation. Typically, this clause outlines the procedures for obtaining consent before agreeing to a settlement and may specify the responsibilities of each party if an adverse judgment is rendered, such as payment obligations or rights to appeal. Its core function is to ensure that both parties are protected from unilateral decisions that could impact their interests and to clarify the process for resolving disputes, thereby reducing uncertainty and potential conflicts.
