Severance Benefits Payable Clause Samples
The "Severance Benefits Payable" clause defines the employer's obligation to provide specific compensation and benefits to an employee upon termination of employment under certain conditions, such as without cause or due to a company restructuring. Typically, this clause outlines the types of payments (like salary continuation, lump-sum payments, or continued health benefits) and the duration or amount of such benefits, often contingent on the employee signing a release of claims. Its core function is to ensure financial support for the employee during the transition period after job loss, while also protecting the employer from future legal claims related to the termination.
