SEVERANCE OF PRIOR AGREEMENTS/MID-TERM BARGAINING. Section 1. The parties acknowledge that during the negotiations which preceded this Agreement, each had the unlimited right and opportunity to make demands and proposals with respect to any subject matter not removed by law from the area of collective bargaining, and that the understanding and agreements arrived at by the parties, after the exercise of that right and opportunity, are set forth in this Agreement. This contract, it is mutually agreed, supersedes and cancels all prior agreements, whether oral or written, unless expressly stated to the contrary herein, and together with any addendums (e.g., letters of understanding, appendices, side letters, etc.) constitutes the complete and entire understanding and agreement between the parties and concludes collective bargaining, except as specifically provided for in Section 2, for the term of this contract. Unless specifically and expressly set forth in the express written provisions of this Agreement, all rules, regulations, benefits and practices previously and presently in effect may be modified or discontinued by the Employer upon notification to the Union.
