Special and Differential Treatment. In application of Article 10 of the SPS Agreement, when a signatory Andean Country has identified difficulties with a proposed measure notified by the EU Party, the signatory Andean Country may request, in its comments submitted to the EU Party pursuant to Article 7 of the SPS Agreement, an opportunity to discuss the issue. The Parties concerned shall enter into consultations in order to agree on: (a) alternative import conditions to be applied by the importing Party; and/or (b) technical assistance according to Article 101; and/or (c) a transition period of six months, which could be exceptionally extended for another period of no longer than six months.
