Special Differentials. The following employees will be paid a differential under the terms and conditions described below:
A. Employees who are designated to supervise prison crews and have obtained the appropriate training as directed by the Employer will be paid ten percent (10%) differential only during the days actually assigned to supervise a prison crew. Such employees reassigned to other duties not supervising prisoners to meet emergency/ operational needs shall not receive differential on such days.
B. Employees assigned to operate City Fuel Tankers requiring an additional Hazmat endorsement to the required CDL will receive a five percent (5%) differential. Loss of CDL or the required Hazmat endorsement will be cause for termination of such differential and assignment. Such employees reassigned to other duties not operating a City Fuel Tanker to meet emergency/operation needs shall not receive differential on such days.
Special Differentials. Special differentials in major development
Article 1.2.1.. The differential shall amount to 10% of the monthly pay for regular day work and does not constitute grounds for overtime, a shift differential or other differentials. Development outside of densely populated areas refers to employee camps that have been established at least 20 km away from a densely populated area. Densely populated area as per this agreement is a population core of at least 3000 inhabitants. This differential replaces the absence supplement in the collective agreements as applicable. The contractor is authorized to negotiate with its workers about other arrangement of this differential, for example, that it is a part of other special payments or bonuses, provided this does not entail lesser pay. Workers who are hired to work in drilling (drilling team) in tunnels shall be paid a 20% wage differential. Drilling work refers to drilling and exploding rock. Total drilling of tunnels with the use of tunnel drills does not fall under this provision. Tunnel refers to tunnel for traffic or water, and arches that may be categorized as tunnels. The provision does not apply to other explosive work, for example, because of ditches, foundations of buildings or caves. The criteria shall be that the workers primarily carry out all general work and that meal and coffee breaks are flexible and based on that deemed as normal breaks during work and are taken near the work site. Team leaders, who are especially hired for supervisory tasks according to this agreement, shall receive a 15% differential, which shall be calculated according to the wage scale of the agreement by which they are paid.
