Special Notifications. The Local Government shall notify the Federal Government of any activity by a Federal detainee which would likely result in litigation or alleged criminal activity. The Local Government shall immediately notify the Federal Government of an escape of a Federal detainee. The Local Government shall use all reasonable means to apprehend the escaped Federal detainee and all reasonable costs in connection therewith shall be borne by the Local Government. The Federal Government shall have primary responsibility and authority to direct the pursuit and capture of such escaped Federal detainees. Additionally, the Local Government shall notify the Federal Government as soon as possible when a Federal detainee is involved in an attempted escape or conspiracy to escape from the Facility. In the event of the death or assault or a medical emergency of a Federal detainee, the Local Government shall immediately notify the Federal Government.
