Specific Powers of the Land Bank. Section 6.01. Acquisition of Real Property. Except as otherwise provided in this Contract or under the Land Bank Act, the Land Bank may acquire, by gift, devise, transfer, exchange, foreclosure, purchase or otherwise, Real Property or personal property, or rights or interests in Real Property or personal property on terms and conditions and in a manner the Board considers is in the best interest of the Land Bank. Any acquisition of Real or personal property, or rights or interests therein shall be approved by the affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the Board present and voting at a meeting at which a Quorum is present; provided, however, that no acquisition of Real Property or personal property, or rights or interests therein located in the City of Milledgeville shall be authorized unless those voting in the affirmative include at least two appointees appointed by the City of Milledgeville. The Land Bank may purchase Real Property by purchase contract, lease purchase contract or otherwise. The Land Bank may acquire Real Property or rights or interests in Real Property for any purpose the Land Bank considers necessary to carry out the purposes of the Land Bank Act. The Baldwin County Land Bank shall not acquire by gift any property acquired by enforcement of either the Baldwin County Unsafe Building Abatement or Property Standards Ordinances.
