SPECIFIED SOURCE Clause Samples
The Specified Source clause designates a particular supplier, manufacturer, or origin from which goods or materials must be obtained under a contract. In practice, this means that the buyer is required to purchase products only from the named source, and the seller is obligated to supply goods that originate from that source, such as a specific factory, brand, or geographic location. This clause ensures consistency in quality, compliance with regulatory requirements, or adherence to buyer preferences, and it helps prevent substitution with unapproved or inferior alternatives.
SPECIFIED SOURCE. Contractor must inform the State of the source of where the salt is being produced. If the source of the salt changes the Contractor is required to contact the purchasing agent prior to salt being delivered. The State has the right to reject any salt that comes from a different source without prior approval.
