Spousal Benefits – Death in the Line of Duty. In the event a Firefighter dies in the lawful performance of his/her duty, as defined by W.S.I.B. as a workplace or line of duty death, his/her spouse and any dependents that are eligible shall continue to be insured under this article on the same basis as a firefighter, until the spouse remarries or becomes eligible for such benefits elsewhere, to a maximum of age 65.
