Spousal Coverage Exclusion Election. Working spouses who have access to other medical coverage through their employers are not eligible to be members of the Shawnee State University plan, and must enroll with their respective employers. Should the spouse’s employment status change or eligibility for that plan cease, they may request enrollment as a dependent on this Plan due to a Qualifying Event within 31 days of their other coverage terminating.

In cases where both spouses are employees of the University and eligible for coverage, they may choose to enroll individually, employee plus spouse, employee plus child(ren), or family.
