Stability and robustness. The control-systems view on evolvable systems requires attention to traditional control system concerns such as stability, as well as open system concerns such as intrusion tolerance and attack sensitivity. We study tech- niques for stability analysis, and propose to use self-stabilization to provide global system stability by construction. Particular difficulties arise in case components of an autonomously evolving system may be controlled by an adversary.
